Dustin Parr studied Studio Arts with a focus on painting at the University of Saint Francis in Ft. Wayne, IN. From curating to participating in local shows, Dustin strives to create connection between artist and viewer; personally, by painting statements of shared human experience and communally, by facilitating gatherings to appreciate that same human experience.
Art develops as language does; humanity evolves further today than communication with tongue and text. The hands and body yearn for the sympathy of mind and soul. This is why we create, why we feel, and why we collect. Our legacy is history, defining the rules we can understand it to be, setting boundaries for
what is to come, and shaping what we understand it to be in the now. The past, present, and future of what I paint aims to be a subliminal and primal conversation between us all. A whisper of comfort and a scream of injustice.
