The reason behind the choice of name? A couple of the definitions I found for symphony are: a balanced, pleasing or suitable arrangement of parts; and harmonious arrangement (as of sound or colour). I thought the definition suited. And the green and gold part should be obvious. This piece would likely be at home in a more formal, luxe setting. This painting reminds me of the many-coloured boiled lollies. Bold, clean, saturated colours stacked on top of one another. These rectangles of saturated colour will bring a pop of colour to a room. Gold leaf dust is trapped by the heavily-textured surface to form pockets of shiny gold. Colour on screen varies with different devices and makes it difficult to judge if the colour is what it appears to be. The background of this painting is Porter's Paints 'Linseed', with no other colours added. Sample cards of Porter's Paints are easy to find and would be helpful for judging colour.

I see it as a metaphor of a community, or a household , or even a personality. The different parts of the whole are supported and 'held together' by the other parts, which helps the whole to function or work.

Different people see different things in abstract paintings and I know not everyone will see what I see.
In the middle top half of the painting is a large heart, and the left side of the heart partially forms the figure of a woman kneeling and facing to the right.
The colour pink represents nurturing, compassion and unconditional love and understanding.
Unconditional love is an unselfish love that is given without the expectation of anything in return.
