Bio
Verónica Costa Amador is a self-taught artist based in Hamburg, Germany, with Portuguese roots. Originally trained as a technical draughtswoman and design engineer, she brings precision, patience and a highly developed sense of structure into her artistic practice.

Her work is situated within biomorphic surrealism, where organic forms, cellular structures and anatomical associations become a visual language for exploring inner processes. Working intuitively and building her compositions through successive layers of colour, ink and intricate linework, she creates highly detailed, small-format works that invite close and sustained observation.

At the centre of her practice is the relationship between the visible and the invisible. Her works explore perception, inner development, transformation and the gradual process of becoming conscious. Rather than illustrating psychological states directly, she translates them into autonomous visual structures that appear organic, complex and constantly in motion.

Her ongoing series Topographie des Unbewussten, Flux and Körperfragmente approach these themes from different perspectives, examining the formation of inner landscapes, the experience of change and the relationship between external perception and personal identity.

Through a distinctive combination of biomorphic forms and meticulous detail, Costa Amador creates works that occupy a space between abstraction, organic anatomy and surrealism.
