Peshi Haas in an established artist and a graduate of The School of Visual Arts. Her focus is on abstract architecture. She is inspired to paint iconic cities but roads less traveled in those places. She has been named a travel artist by collectors and art critics alike.

When I began this work, I was inspired by the Fauvism movement—by the colors and the textures that these artist used. My intention was to create a still life painting of flowers that interact and dance with each other. I wanted it to be abstract in style but classic in form.

This painting depicts the old city of Jerusalem with the Archway as the main focal point. The brushstrokes are very expressionistic like, and I almost felt like I was combining an old city of an ancient time with a wild jungle with notes of classic and pop joining together.

I painted this artwork a few weeks after staying in the iconic, gorgeous and historic Plaza Athene on Paris' most famed Avenue Montage. Breakfast in bed while staring at the Eiffel Tower in the distance was the new subject matter for my next travel series work.
