Cycles of nature, cave art, Elder Futhark Runes, Impressionist and Expressionist (among other styles), old Memento Mori art of all kinds are some of my main influences.
Photography is all my own work documenting my travels. I love old buildings, iron gates, architectural details and nature.
I also incorporate pressed flowers, leaves and other natural objects into my work and sometimes create shadowboxes. Layering and varnishing keeps me enthralled.
CURRENT ARTIST STATEMENT
Moving from strictly painting in watercolor to incorporating some of my of techniques from the past consisting of layering pressed flowers and leaves, paper, paint and old book parts combined with various types of varnishes and mediums.
The cycle of nature has always been one of my biggest muses, particular death and decay. I find beauty in withering flowers and leaves and bring new life to them in my work. Also, the concept that life is oly temporary and is a constant theme in my work.
