Bio

I was born in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, a region that has been occupied by russia since the full-scale invasion in 2022. Growing up in a post-Soviet country, experiencing immigration, and witnessing the devastation of war have deeply shaped my worldview and influenced my artistic tastes.

Inspired by a poem written by my father, an artillery soldier defending Ukraine since 2022, “In the Loving Arms” is an oil painting rooted in Orthodox iconography. It honors those who have died for freedom, transforming their sacrifice into a sacred act. The embrace symbolizes both grief and sanctity—reflecting a line from his poem: "...shall those who passed Giving up their lives to freedom Find themselves gently held In the loving arms of holy motherland Ukraine"
