Bio

Birds have taken on the lead role in my art. I create from the heart with spiritual, cultural and symbolic features embedded in each brush stroke. And for that, birds are the perfect messengers. I choose vibrant colours because they are perfect for spreading joy, love and hope.

Swans are the ultimate symbol of love. They mate for life, some species migrate, but they stay true and dedicated to each other and the family. They are usually pictured as calm and serene, but symbolically, love can also be an action and these beautiful and graceful birds can also mirror the power, strength and vitality of admiration and love.

For months, I've had a grey heron following me around. He appears where I least expect it and finally, I got around to painting him. Model is Grey Heron They generally symbolise self-reflection, intuition and solitude but they are so strongly embedded in culture and may have different associations and symbolism depending on where they are. I think they are incredibly beautiful and regal birds and for that reason, this might be one of my own personal favourites.

With this painting, I want to show the magpie in their true colours. At first glance, they seem like vocal birds in black and white. But, they are actually white, blue and green. They are highly intelligent, which is why their call is so different from most other birds. They are monogumous and loyal not only to their partner but to their local neighbourhood. They never move unless they have to. This means that they probably know you a lot better than you know them. They are the balancing bridge between divine and earthly energies. To many cultures, they symbolize love, fortune, loyalty and wisdom.
