Joe Colosimo (born April 23, 1968, in Desertines) is a French-born illustrator. He remained in France until completing his studies, then moved to Milan in 1988. In 1998, after his daughter’s birth, he created the character "Minou," which grew in popularity in both artistic and musical circles by 2002. His first exhibition took place in Milan’s Hoepli bookstore in 2004. After a brief pause in 2009, he resumed daily illustration work, often focusing on social issues like AIDS. In 2011, he began a collaboration with singer Dario Gay, exhibiting his work at Gay's concerts and vice versa.In 2012, Colosimo exhibited in a gallery to raise funds for AIDS research with LILA Milano. He then met singer Rita Pavone in 2013, who invited him to contribute a drawing to her DVD “Master,” released the following year. In 2015, he exhibited at Piacenza’s Biffi Arte gallery in a project partially benefitting local hospital initiatives. Colosimo showcased his work at Verona’s Triennale in 2016, receiving praise from Paolo Levi and Sandro Serradifalco. Later that year, he presented three pieces in Paris, Vienna, and Rome through the “First International ARTE IMPERO Trophy.” In winter 2017, he joined the “Artelibera” exhibition in Verona, curated by art critic Vera Meneguzzo. Since 2018, he has been featured in Afmagazine as a chosen artist.
