About me
Bio
Katerina Haritopoulou was born in Vienna, where she lived her first years of life. She studied graphic design in Thessaloniki.

Now she lives and works in Larisa as a self-taught sculptor and jeweler.

The focal theme of her work is people. Wire is her favorite medium but she is also greatly inspired by different materials, and new techniques to experiment with, and is keen to combine mediums.

The wirework keeps her more than busy with numerous private commissions globally.

I use no model and I don't form the shape around anything. The posture is first designed and then carefully molded by hand. I wrap each sculpture layer by layer in a free-form way. Sometimes, this flows easily for me while other times, I cannot rest until my figures are in the perfect angle and position to evoke the feelings I want to convey.

To me, body language, movements, and expressions are art forms. It is my goal with every design, with every wrapping of wire, to depict these in a way that says everything without saying a word.
