A depiction of the walk under Victoria train station at night. I wanted to capture the contrast of the warm underpass lights with the cold outside London air, creating an of brief feeling respite during a long walk home. I used to walk home from work through this underpass every evening whilst working in Battersea Park and remember this short walkway fondly.

I took the reference photo for this piece during a blisteringly hot camping trip to Hay on the Wye in June 2026. I wanted to capture the after-glow of a day spent out in the sun. I can still feel the warmth on my skin if I think hard enough.

Based on a family trip to the town of Seaham in County Durham. I love capturing quiet moments of reflection whilst in nature; the meditative searching for forgotten treasures in the sand, with only the sound of the lapping waves for company. When I see this painting it takes me right back to that beach and back to that peaceful state of mind.
