Growing up in Nizhny Tagil, one of the most industrialized and polluted cities in Russia, I witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of human activity on the natural world. From a young age, I saw how unchecked industrialization and pollution could ravage the environment, leaving behind scars that marred the landscape and poisoned the air and water.
Despite the grim reality that surrounded me, I found solace and inspiration in the beauty of nature. The trees that stubbornly clung to life amidst the concrete jungle, the fleeting glimpses of wilderness that remained untouched by human hands – these became my refuge and my muse. In the midst of chaos and destruction, I discovered a profound connection to the earth and a deep-seated desire to protect and preserve it.
