Carly (b. 1990) had been a cam girl years ago. She worked from Brazil to an international audience. Keeping the same name, she returned to cam work and sex work later in life. Her circumstances had changed by then though: her then real self also had an art market job amongst others. Other than that camming platforms and gadgets had evolved immensely which brought her to explore her job as performance art, remote made-to-order wearable art and photographic or video based works produced either in collaboration with her clients or with unadvised third parties (“partner sites” that both mirror live cam shows in real time and document them in AI picked screenshots). Some projects include the “Sleep Beauty” show (a voyeur inter=active sleeping girlfriend experience, August 2019-July 2020), the "Competition Videos" series including the deepfake videos “New video up <3 Happy Valentines to all hermits <3 !!!! xx” (a Valentine' s Day Challenge video in which she appears as a deepfake version of Yvonne Marquis in Kenneth Anger’s Puce Moment; 15 February 2021) and “I have made a Hair Flip & also also a playful amateur deepfake of myself as Sindel doing the Hair Whip #MortalKombat style ! This was so much fun to do ! Thanks a lot ! xoxo” (7 February 2021), “I sew u pants 10,000” (Menu Item, March 2021-present), and “Wargasm In Pornotopia” in collaboration with Stewart Home (2022). She is currently working on a series of username paintings + body prints (January 2024-present).
