Bio

Shuk Orani is a multi-layered multimedia artist and Conceptionist based in Hamburg Germany. He is best known for his large-format, abstract-expressionistic oil paintings but also for large-scale sculptures. Orani has already had art exhibitions all over Europe as well as in USA, China, GB, Canada… This includes museums and galleries, such as the Musée du Louvre, the Welper Gallery, NW Gallery, the Robert Gallery as well as the exhibition at MOCA Beijing in 2016, and the "Tai Museum" 2019. His art has received several awards and is represented in various private collections and top-class hotels.
At international auctions numerous works were sold in all parts of the world. His development as an artist has already been documented and recognized in various publications - both in print and online media.( Art&Museum Magazine, Bloomberg, Yahoo, Ritz Herald, The Washingtonmail, Artistcloseup, Singulart Magazine, Spotlight, Ufofabrik, Circle Art, Politiko, Curiator, Gomuseum, Kultplus, Vivamost, and many more.)
His works testify to a silent struggle for the liberation of people who sleep in rigid norms. He deals with questions of origin, with anachronistic power structures and mind-altering philosophies.
The themes of struggle and disintegration but also the sharpening of perception and a new construction of reality are reflected in his art.

On the walls of the Ballindamm, marked by traces of the past, Orani‘s abstract paintings evoke a new perspective of space and time, bringing the past into the present. Inspired by the textures of what has been left behind, Shuk Orani created an impressive 12-metre-long mural that invites the viewer to look at their surroundings in a new context. A painting that shares the fate of its surroundings and will soon fall victim to the constant changes of time. The mural will only be on display in its full glory for a short time. In the course of the renovation work, the painting will disappear forever behind masonry and plaster.

The Game | Shuk Orani | oil on canvas | 200 x 200 cm - 2014 While doing this work I was fighting with my own imagination, I had a sense that something exploded within me and I went beyond reason. This painting represents that “beyond reasonable” moment and the world within each and every one of us where often illu- sionary desires fight with reality. We as human beings are extraordinary as long as we are seen as such, so we make a lot of effort to appear as such. Here I want to revive the madness within us, and the fact that our illusion and reality are often battling. Let us drown in the world of play and perhaps we become one with the universe.
