Born in Cape Town (1999), Petersen completed a BAFA (2021) followed by a MAVA (2024) at the Visual Arts Department of Stellenbosch University. This has encouraged a pracademic approach to her work, where various themes such as personal histories, collective memory, and personal and cultural narratives of home and identity are communicated through a means of interdisciplinary documentation. Petersen’s work demonstrates her skills as a researcher, writer and creative thinker.
