Details: Celestial bodies is a piece I made in 2024. A modern day interpretation of Artemis, goddess of the hunt. I replaced her bow and arrow with the rim of the moon and a shooting star. As an eclipse rages on in the background, flares from it permeating throughout, she is able to effortlessly command the cosmos. This painting is a universal love letter to women everywhere, highlighting the undeniable power within all of us. This piece took upwards of 140 hours over the course of 6 months. Spending so much time on my easel allowed the work to grow with me, adding new elements as my life progressed made this piece a visual representation of my life for that half-year.
