Bio
Annika Dzerve (b. Latvia) is a European contemporary painter based in Puglia, Italy. She holds a Master’s degree from the Art Academy of Latvia and relocated to Southern Italy following a traineeship, where she has continued to develop her artistic practice.
After a period dedicated to motherhood — during which she explored experimental works using wine and coffee on paper, consistently centered on female identity — she returned fully to large-scale painting.
Her work investigates emotional landscapes and the atmospheric states of female presence. Through a refined dialogue between figuration and abstraction, Dzerve constructs cohesive bodies of work that explore identity, vulnerability, and psychological climate through restrained palettes and calibrated light.
