This Abstract Mixed Media Collage is about my deep love of nature. I feel a deep connection to nature and to the Earth. Because our DNA is made of the Earth DNA because we are made of the clay of the Earth, we are part of the Earth itself.
The artwork contains collage papers that I created using washing paper and acrylics, as well as decoupage from store bought papers. Acrylics was added as a base and on top of collage pieces.

Music and Letters
Mixed Media Collage

This Mixed Media Collage was created with a base of gesso and then a painting of a bright red acrylic mixed with a darker red and Venetian pink acrylic mixed together. After drying, I added various collage papers that included decoupage papers that I purchased, but mostly it includes collage papers that I created with acrylics either decorating and painting them, or using stencils and acrylics on the washi paper.
The collage includes washi paper decorated with acrylics and stencils, hemp paper, fine art papers that are quite thin and delicate, and they were all adhered on the painting with gloss medium below and on top of the papers that seal and protect both the papers and painting.

You Have Passed The Threshold

I created this abstract acrylic painting on paper intuively as I do with many of my paintings. When I paint and create, I go inward and paint from there. Often, I only see afterwards what my inspiration was and what my paintings are about. The previous night, I had had a lucid dream. I often have lucid dreams, and have visions of things beyond what can be physically seen with the eyes. Mostly these experiences are visual and not auditory, but this time it was auditory. I heard a voice say " You have past the threshold", and then I heard the voice say that their love for me "was beyond all space and time". Definiely, the second part is beautiful, but I was and am somewhat unsure what the first part was referrring to exactly. It could be about spiritual ascension or the beginning of this process, but I am not certain. It felt like it was a positive message, and I especially liked the second part of the message. This painting for me was a reflection of the spiritual experience.

The Light of Rafael

This abstract acrylic painting on canvas has many layers. In a sense, there are at least two other full paintings underneath it. The most recent version before this one was entitled fluid time, but sometimes I feel that something is missing and I know the painting is not done. I returned and painted over it with more layers including a mixture of silver mixed with purple and blue acrylics. On top of this, I added the final layers of neon green mixed with silver acrylics. Now, I feel it is where it is meant to be. Sometimes, the previous layers and versions of paintings are part of the story that leads to the final painting. Raphael is an angel in the Abrahamic religions which include Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Raphael is the angel of healing and protection. He is the angel who I feel is currently manifesting to bring healing during this current period. The name Raphael means "God Heals".

The Pleroma in Pink and Indigo

This abstract acrylic painting on paper is a layered with high flow and fluid acrylics. I have added airbrush extender to medium body acrylics and combined pink , indigo and purple acrylics with silver acrylic to give the acrylics both fluidity and a shimmer.
The painting has layers of gold and other acrylics as the base of the painting. The upper layers of acrylic include pink, purple, silver, and indigo. I used high flow acrylics on the base of the painting to create some texture to the painting. I put lines of high flow acrylic and allow them to move around the page and then dry. After that, layers of acrylic including gold, sepia, pink and silver were added. The final layers showcase indigo and purple with silver acrylic mixed in with each.
The painting is about the divine dyads nearest the Source or the Monad referred to as the pleroma. The divine spark within each of us is from this pleroma which is spirituality taught from the Gnostic point of view.

Another Dimension

Overall my painting and artwork in general is intuitive and abstract expressionist in nature. For me, there is most definitely an astral plane and other dimensions that are not too apparent to us. Our visual eyesight is extremely limited, and we only see a very small fraction of things on the light spectrum due to the limitations of our physical eyesight. On the other hand, I do believe that we have what you might call a second sight. Some people refer to this as the third eye. It is a type of visual ability that comes from a psychic place or ability rather than a purefuly physical ability.
I created this mixed media painting first with a red acrylic base on fine art paper. After this, I used green inks overtop the red acrylic base. Afther this, I used high flow acrylics which I poured over the top on the painting in various patterns to create the sligthly elevated sections of black, gold and yellow.

Find the Balance

This Color Field Painting started out with a first layer of bright colors, but my goal was to create deeper and richer colors that create a feeling of stablility, earthiness, balance and peace. I layered the painting with various acrylics and inks and made marks with the spatula as I went.
While the painting looks like three fields of color from a distance, there are five. I created a connection in color between the top two and bottom two color fields so that they merge and appear as one color field instead of two from a distance.
The top of the painting is a deep green and deep blue. You can see the variety in the color fields when you are up close, but my goal was for a cohesive and balanced feeling. The middle field appears to be only gold, but a variety colors are underneath here as well. The bottom field is dark red and above that is a simlar palette in that field that I created by mixing dark violet and burnt sienna acrylics.

This nature-themed mixed media collage contains various types of papers with images of leaves, plants, birds, and butterfiles. There is decorative rice paper and japanese papers that I have cut and pasted into the collage. I also cut and pasted in pieces of washi paper and hemp papers that I painted with neon pink and yellow acrylic paints. I cut and layered all the different types of papers on fine art paper, and adhered them with gloss medium. I also cover my collages wiht gloss medium to seal and protect them.

Women and Art

This abstract mixed media collage is about women and how they have been depicted in a 1920s art journal that I have copies as my great-grandmother was in a Paris art show at this time. The base of the collage is painted in blue acrylic. On top of this I added washi paper painted with acrylics, and images of paintings of women which I cut out of an art journal. The woman in the paintings from the art journal are from different classes. I have added some neon pink acrylic over top these images. On top of these layers, I added pieces of Chiyogami paper which is decorative Japanese floral hand silk-screened papers, colored washi, and decoupage. This decoupage rice paper beautifully designed paper items such as musical notes, leaves, and butterflies. I have also included other decoupage items such as tiny decorative sides of a frame I painted with neon pink. I have adhered the decorative papers, painted washi papers with acrylics, and decoupage papers with gloss medium. Gloss medium adheres, seals and protects the papers and decoupage items.

A Busy Mind

This unique and original mixed media collage on fine art paper is called A Busy Mind. The base of the collage is an acrylic painting. I added several layers of collage, decorative Japanese paper and decoupage papers with gloss medium. The collage includes washi paper I painted myself, Japanese paper, rice paper, and hemp paper.
I adhered all the papers and then added some sparkles to the top layer using gloss medium. Gloss medium seals and brightens acrylic colors, but it also it allows for great long-term adhesion of collage papers and decoupage items.

Blue and Gold Japanese Collage

This abstract Mixed Media Collage on Fine Art Paper is a floral and French themed art Collage. The base of the artwork was made with gold pastel and conte. The collage includes papers from a 1926 French art journal,and Japanese decorative papers including Chiogami Mosaic hand silk-screened paper. From the French art jounal, I cut and pasted artworks and ads into the collage and adhered them using gloss medium. I also created my own collage papers using black and white acrylics and turquoise acrylics which I painted on washi papers.
I added a bronze-based foil which adds a golden sheen to the top surface of the collage. All paper items and the foil were adhered to the fine art paper using gloss medium which also seals the paper artwork.
The artwork is unframed, and comes with a border so you can easily add it to a frame of your choice.
The classic colors of blue, beige and gold with the floral motif looks great in all types of rooms and works well with almost all color themes.

The Trip

This intuitive abstract acrylic painting on paper is made a various acrylics, but the main colors are red and yellow. There are layers of gold, yellow and red acryic paint on this paper artwork. Near the end of the painting process, I added marks to the painting using the spatula which brought forward the lower level of yellow and gold acrylics mixed together. This abstract painting is entitiled The Trip. The name refers not as much to a physical trip or travel, but more about a spiritual journey that I am currently on.

Pink and Gold Snowy Day

This abstract mixed media artwork on paper is about the season of winter and the snow. The artwork contains white acrylic, red acrylic and metallic bronze-based foil that gives the color of gold leaf.
The work is layered such that the metallic bronze foil is above the base layer of red with white acrylic on top of this.The white represents the snow and the metallic foil and pink and red acrylics are the lights of the the sky reflecting on the snow. The artwork is layered with the first layer being red acrylic, and then the following layer is metallic foil which is like a gold leaf, and the final layer is white. I went over the painting with a spatula forming lines across the page and brought foward a mixture of these colors. The red and white mixed to form more of a pink color than red, and you can see lines also of the metallic foil and white acrylic in rows along the artwork.

Flowing Upwards

This abstract mixed media artwork on paper includes various types of inks and high flow acrylics. The base layer is black hgih flow acrylic, and then sepia and indigo high flow acrylics were added and mixed in with silver and aqua inks. The artworks that I generally make are highly intuitive and originate from a feeling. Often there is not a specific concept at the beginning, but as I move through the process, the meaning or concept comes through.
For me, the concept is about energy flowing upwards and about movement upwards. This can be energy in terms of vibration, movemen, or emotional energy.
